Whole Beef - DEPOSIT
Each option yields approximately 40% ground beef, 25% steaks, and 35% roasts. This varies as you get to choose what cuts you want. For example, if you don’t eat many roasts, you can choose to have them ground into ground beef instead. That would up your proportion of ground beef and decrease the proportion of roasts you’d get.
Our whole beef averages 450 pounds and it is perfect for a big family or people who really, really like beef.
That’s approximately 180 pounds of ground beef, 158 pounds of roasts, and 113 pounds of steak.
All our beef is:
- Dry-aged
- Vacuum-sealed and flash-frozen for quality
- Raised right here on the Padlock Ranch at in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains.
Deposit – To claim your beef, place a 40% deposit at $8.50 per pound. This allows us to plan ahead and harvest the correct amount of beef.
Cut Sheet – At harvest time we’ll email you a cut sheet. You’ll select which cuts you’d like and send it back to us and we will get the beef to our butcher. If you have any questions during this process, we will be available to answer your questions and help you decide what will be the best fit for your family. In the meantime, we’ll continue to raise the cattle until they’re ready. They’ll be carefully fed a finishing ration designed by our nutritionist for optimal marbling and flavor and checked every single day by our trained crew.
Timeline – The beef will be harvested at Western Heritage Meat Company in Sheridan, Wyoming. The harvest date is yet to be determined, but it will be this fall, and we will let you know via email when we have a date confirmed.
Final payment – When the beef is ready to pick up, we will invoice you for the final amount, which will be approximately $2295, for a total of approximately $3825. The $8.50 per pound covers all the fees associated with processing, so you won’t have any hidden costs to worry about.
Pickup – We offer free local pick-up at our ranch headquarters. The address is 8420 US Hwy 14, Ranchester WY. We’re also happy to ship beef anywhere in the continental US.
The Beef
All of our beef is home raised on the Padlock Ranch in Wyoming and Montana. Our cattle are grain fed by our crews no matter the weather, and we are careful to make sure that they have as few bad days as possible.
